How to Use Soap Nuts
In addition to their most common use as an all-natural laundry soap alternative, soap nuts can be used for a variety of other household chores and personal care. These include general household cleaning, dishwashing, pet care, and using soap nuts as a gentle bath additive.Here are a few of our favorite soap nuts recipes:
Soap Nuts in the Laundry
For everyday laundry use, place 6-8 half shells of soap nuts into a filled washing machine. You may choose to secure the soap nuts in a sock or linen bag to prevent having to search for them before placing clothes in the dryer. Soap nuts work well in both cold and warm water. For heavily soiled loads we recommend warm or hot water. Remember that warm/hot water washing will result in getting fewer washes from your soap nuts.Soap Nuts for Hand Wash Laundry
Place 6-8 half shells of soap nuts into 2 cups of water. Simmer on the stove for 15 minutes. Soak laundry in solution as needed and rinse thoroughly. Soap Nuts Household Cleaner
For everyday household cleaning, place a handful of soap nut shells in 2 cups of water and boil on the stove for 15 minutes. Allow to cool and pour into a spray bottle. Discard shells after boiling.Soap Nuts Bath Additive

Simmer 2-3 half shell soap nuts in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Place jewelry in cooled solution to restore shine and remove grime.
Soap Nuts Pet Shampoo
